Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Her mother raised her throughout the USA she had to face a lot of racial taunts which gave her feeling of being unwanted. In her 9th year that she started to feel more confident following her acclaim during an audition. It not only boosted her confidence but was also a change in the direction she pursued in her professional career. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail were both her big breakthroughs. The character of The lad from The Lake is her greatest break, earning herself the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her performance. In the following year, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gaining wider fame. She is also a known singer and has published an extended version of her play. She's also an activist who fights for LGBT rights.
